FOREST BLAKK SIGNS WITH ATLANTIC RECORDS: Pictured (l-r) at Atlantic’s headquarters in NYC are Chris Stiller (Forest Blakk band mate), Forest Blakk, Pete Ganbarg and Trey Mills.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada-based singer/songwriter Forest Blakk signed a worldwide deal with the legendary Atlantic Records Group in partnership with Sire Records and Warner Music Group.  Forest Blakk’s music was introduced to Pete Ganbarg, Head of A&R at Atlantic Records during a meeting he had with Sat Bisla, President & Founder of A&R Worldwide earlier this year.

Subsequently, legendary A&R man and Sire Records Co-Founder & Chairman Mr. Seymour Stein discovered Forest Blakk at a MUSEXPO showcase in Los Angeles this year. Shortly thereafter, Forest Blakk held a series of meetings with Atlantic executives and Stein.

Pete Ganbarg stated, “We are very excited to be signing Forest Blakk to Atlantic. From the first time that Sat [Bisla] introduced me to Forest Blakk’s music through the multiple times we've spent together in New York, it was evident this is very special. Songwriting at its highest level that cuts through! I can’t wait to get going and am thrilled to be working with the legendary Seymour Stein on this as well.”

Forest Blakk said, “Looking forward to calling Atlantic Records home! Alongside Seymour Stein and Pete Ganbarg.”

Seymour Stein, Co-Founder & Chairman commented, “I can’t remember the last MUSEXPO event I missed. It’s an important part of my yearly A&R calendar; having attended MUSEXPO religiously in Los Angeles, and also in London and other cities. MUSEXPO 2015 was particularly strong, as Sat Bisla’s team came up with several incredibly amazing acts. To these old ears of mine, Forest Blakk stood out! I’m a ‘song’ man. That’s what I looked for in just about every artist or band ever signed to Sire Records. It was certainly obvious with Talking HeadsThe SmithsPretendersReplacements and others, but I swear to my ears, it was no less true with the Ramones. It was also the case with Madonna, even though I only heard one song, ‘Everybody.’” Seymour added, “Another key factor has always been ‘voice.’ Forest Blakk has both great original songs and an amazing, unique and captivating voice. From my conversations with Forest, he seems totally dedicated to being the hardest worker on his team; probably the deciding factor in success of many artists. I look forward to Sire working with Pete Ganbarg, Craig Kallman and the Atlantic team, a label that I’ve admired since I first heard one of the earliest R&R records, ‘Shake Rattle & Roll’ by Joe Turner and even more after meeting and working with Ahmet Ertegun and Jerry Wexler, true legends!”

Sat Bisla added, “Forest Blakk is an immensely talented artist with a natural gift for writing and performing in a magical and captivating manner. I’d like to thank Forest and his manager Trey Mills for trusting A&R Worldwide to introduce Forest Blakk’s music to Atlantic Records, and I look forward to continuing our great relationship, as well as working with the legendary Seymour Stein and wonderful team at Atlantic Records who have the foresight and vision to help take Forest Blakk to the next level. Also, I’d like to thank Monte MaloneJoe ArnoldJosh WoodardTyler Polzin and KC Morse at A&R Worldwide for their unrelenting support and passion for Forest Blakk.”

Forest Blakk recently confirmed booking agency representation with the Paradigm Agency in N. America and CODA for the UK & Europe and released his debut major label EP “Minutes” in the Summer of 2018.
